Straight off the back of two sold-out events in Sydney’s Olympic Park last weekend, the ROC Race is hitting Melbourne. Get ready for one ridiculous amount of fun at Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse this Saturday and Sunday, 13th to 14th February 2016.
In case you’ve been living under a (uh) rock, ROC is the Ridiculous Obstacle Challenge – the first game show inspired 5km long obstacle course that’s filled with crazy elements such as the infamous Wrecking Ball, massive Jump Balls, the Sweeper and the World’s Largest Inflatable Water Slide!
And if the event proves to be anything like the success of Sydney’s ROC Race last weekend, Melburnians have got an awful lot to look forward to this Saturday and Sunday. Sydney sold out its first day in just four hours, with 13,000 participants registering, making it the fastest selling 5km event in Australian history.
Remember how much fun the Colour Run was? Well, the ROC Race was created in 2011 by a bunch of crazy Californian coolsters in collaboration with the same producers. Today, ROC Race is one of the fastest-growing obstacle courses in the world, hosting over 300,000 ROC stars worldwide. 2016 is the first ever Australian tour!
Melbourne’s event has already sold out for participating ROC stars – but that’s no reason for not coming along. There’s still room for spectators, and with an epic amount of fun to be had, you’d be crazy to miss it.
Sponsors Fox FM will be there, ROC’ing the ROC Race with cool music and entertainment, along with wild activity booths to keep everyone partying.
Once again, Sage Institute of Fitness are the presenting sponsors. Our fun, fab fitness team will be pumping up the runners with an energising warm-up, preparing them for their crazy run ahead. Later, they’ll be cooling them down, easing their brains and bods slowly back down to planet Earth.
Feel like winning a Garmin watch? Our Sage team will have a stand in the festival area where we’ll be holding awesome competitions to give away two ultra-cool Garmin sports watches.
To be in the running to win a Garmin watch, all you have to do is take a snapshot at the Sage stand and post it on Instagram with #SAGEROCS. Fill out your details and you’ll be in the running!
Whatever you do, make sure you come and say “hi” to the Sage team. There’ll be heaps of cool peeps to meet, and you can find out about some of our brilliant career changing courses in fitness, massage, aged care and child care.
The Joffrey family (The Biggest Loser: winning family) are also dropping by, so now’s your chance to have a quick chat and get inspired by their amazing story.
On Sunday, Sage’s mighty massage therapy student team will be giving massages, and even if you’re not a ROC runner, you can grab a rub-down, too.
The ROC Race promises to be one ridiculously ROC’n good time, so get out your diary NOW and make sure you come on down to Melbourne’s Flemington Park this weekend to join the fun!
